Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common disease where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows outside it in other parts of the body.
Did you know?
Nearly 1 million Australian girls, women, and those assigned female at birth live with endometriosis at some point in their lives, with the disease often starting in teenagers.
Symptoms are variable and contributes to the average 6.5 year diagnosis delay in for endometriosis.
Common symptoms include pelvic pain that disrupts life around or during a person’s period and may impact fertility.
Endometriosis primarily affects the reproductive organs but can also be found in areas surrounding the bowel and bladder, as well as in the skin, joints, lungs and brain.
